Hembygdsgård Dammtorp is a small local history museum located just four kilometres from Åboholm in the middle of the forest. Old houses have been dismantled in their original location and carefully rebuilt around the old schoolhouse. One small cottage in particular, which still contains all the original furniture from the last owner, is well worth a visit. The scissor grinder’s bicycle and numerous craft utensils are also on display. Unfortunately, opening hours are limited to a few events, so be sure to check the current calendar of events to enjoy a Swedish get-together including a fika (coffee break) and cultural events.
